Ever waited the whole day to crack open an ice-cold beer only to you realize you have no opener? BUMMER! Well, you need not worry anymore because you can still enjoy your beer without having to suffer chipped teeth or even breaking the bottle.

The First Annual Nairobi Beer Festival is here and over 40 restaurants are giving exciting beer offers.  Check out these easy and creative ways to open a beer without an opener.

If you are at home (or the office – no judgement) then a spoon is the easiest thing to get. Place the small tip under  the edge of the cap while supporting the neck and lid with your other hand and then pop the cap open.

2. Ring

Always make sure the ring is not made of soft metals like gold or pure silver. Insert your ring under the cap, fold your knuckle over it then pull the lid off. This might hurt a little bit but it gets the job done.

 3. Edge of a surface

Make sure that the edge you want to use is not wood or any painted surface because it might get damaged. Place the bottle lid on top of the edge while holding the bottle tightly with your hand. Using your other hand, hit the bottle cap with your palm.

4. Your Keys

You might not have an opener but a house key is something that you will definitely have near you. Take the key and insert the teeth under one of the bumps on the side of the cap and pull it off.

5. Another bottle!

Turn the bottle you are using as an opener upside down, hook its cap on the lid of the other bottle and push it down to open it. Make sure you are holding both bottles very tightly.

Happy drinking!
