Have you every been so hungry that you walked into the kitchen and emptied the pantry building a sandwich so tall it pretty much made KICC look like a dwarf? A sandwich so powerful that your hunger started quivering in fear because it knew it’s time was up? Then started looking at it helplessly because you didn’t know which end to bite into first? When I think of burgers in particular, my mind always wanders to that time our CEO, Mikul Shah, battled it out with Capital Lifestyle’s Susan Wong at The Ultimate Burger Challenge.
If you’re feeling sinful and looking for inspiration, here are seven pictures that will have you emptying your fridge in a bid to stack whatever goodies you find there with artful precision akin only to Picasso. The Picasso of desserts. PS: Beware that this post might give you diabetes.
1) Chocolate-dipped cronuts
When croissants and donuts got married, they didn’t hyphenate but instead became cronuts. Or, as I like to refer to the couple, ‘The Best thing ever!’ Dip them in chocolate, frost them with coconut cream and sprinkle with toasted coconut flakes. You can keep these in the fridge for up to 4 days, though how you could manage that level of will power is beyond me.
2) Fluffer nutter stuffed oreos
This is ridiculously simple: open up your oreo, smear some peanut butter on one side and a bit of marshmallow on the other, put them back together, dunk in chocolate, add some sprinkles and you got yourself a little bit of heaven.
3) M&M Oreo cookie bar
Wouldn’t you look at that!
4) Banana bread, brie and chocolate grilled cheese
Frankly, this idea is quite out there. Like something an expectant woman would crave. It’s like the person had banana bread, wanted chocolate and could never turn down cheese. You need a thick slice of banana bread for this to work as it is quite dense. You can make the sandwich like a regular old grilled cheese, or you can butter both sides, fry both sides, then stick the cheese and chocolate in the middle and keep it over low heat until the insides melt.
5) Toasted bacon fluffernutters
This is so wrong that it’s just so right! If you are a member of the bacon-loving freak club like I am, and you love peanut butter and marshmallow, AND you love bacon on strange sweet things, this is for you.
6) Chai ginger ice cream sandwiches
Creamy, slightly spicy, sweet, tender and perfectly ginger-y; beautifully infused with molasses flavour. This offers some spot-on chai tastiness! It’s super satisfying and kind of perfect, even if I do say so myself.
