A Food Celebration; The French Way

After France won the World Cup and judging from the numerous videos making rounds online of the French citizens celebrating the win, we can guess that lots of champagne bottles have been popped in the last few days than ever before. But what foods are they indulging in during this remarkable celebration season especially since they won the most coveted sports trophy a day after their Independence Day-Bastille Day! Here are some National Frenchdishes commonly had.

Beef Bourguignon

This traditional French meal is also their National dish and has gained International popularity. It a stew made with beef braised in red wine. beef broth, herbs onions and mushrooms.

Steak au Poivre (Peppercorn Steak)

This classic French dish features a highly flavourful rib-eye steak seasoned with salt and cracked black peppercorns, seared and oven cooked.

Cassoulet

 

A simple slow-simmering dish that results to a filling stew incorporating white beans, bone broth, onions, garlic, fresh sausages, cured pork belly and sometimes chicken, duck or rabbit legs.
