A fun Sangria Cocktail

written by Jeannette Musembi 27th May 2013

The beauty of the basic Sangria recipe is that it is as delicious as it is easy, and it only gets better as you spice it up with your own additions! Really, it is hard to add the “wrong” ingredient here, think favourite fruits, spice and liquors. Chill and enjoy!

Mix an ice-cold jug of this traditional Spanish sangria recipe: a perfect cocktail for hot summer days.

3 parts red wine

1 part orange juice

2 parts lemonade

fresh mint

sliced fruit such as oranges and lemons

Preparation method

Mix all the ingredients together in a large jug and add more red wine, orange juice or lemonade according to taste and desired strength.

Pour into glasses, garnish with mint sprigs and fruit.
