Amor Coco, a coconut processing company in Kenya, has launched two new products in the market; Extra Virgin Coconut Oil and Coconut Flour.
The new products will meet the growing demand for organic products locally. Amor Coco has a state-of-the-art facility in Kilifi where its other product, High Fat Dedicated Coconut is produced. According to Food Business Africa, the Extra Virgin Oil is produced with no additives and is good for baking, frying, as a butter replacement and more.
Daniel O. Chida, Assistant Sales and Marketing Manager, talked about the gluten-free Coconut Flour saying, “The Coconut Flour is manufactured through a unique process ensuring that it is 100% organic, contains 20% proteins, rich in dietary fibre, low in fat and gluten-free.” This product is great for making ice cream, pizza base, bread, grain-free tortillas and more.
Jane Sikolia, Assistant General Manager noted, “We are also leveraging our strong research and development capabilities and will soon expand our portfolio into the beverage sector through the launch of locally produced coconut water.”
Amor Coco sources its coconuts locally, supporting thousands of farmers. Both products are currently available at Chandarana, Tuskys and Quickmart.
