Anena came to Kenya in 2008 to volunteer for two weeks...and never left. She's the Kenya advertising agent for the Economist magazine, which gets her into lots of business meetings in a suit and heels, and she periodically tromps around the slums, maintaining her volunteer roots. She's currently producing a book on female entrepreneurs in Kenya. She and her marvelous Kenyan man have adopted five kids, aged 11 to 19. She did not plan this. But she's pretty damn happy.
