Bastille Day Celebrations Rock Mombasa

The Bastille Day celebration at Thalassa Restaurant and Lounge was a grand affair.

Bastille Day is the name given in English-speaking countries to the French National Day, which is celebrated on the 14th of July each year to mark the overthrow of the monarchy and the beginning of a new French Republic in 1789. Ironically, even though the revolution took place at Bastille, a military prison, military parades are still used to celebrate the national day.In France, it is formally called La Fête Nationale.

This year, Thalassa Restaurant and Lounge, Mombasa was the venue selected to host the party to mark celebrated national day.  The French Ambassador Etienne de Poncin, graced the party with his presence. After the playing of both the Kenyan and French national anthems, the speeches were kept to a minimum so that invited guests got a chance to unwind, relax and enjoy the cocktail party with delicious biting prepared by the renowned French chef, Olivier Hebert, Owner and Executive Chef of Thalassa Restaurant and Lounge.
