Best Western Premier Hotel Launches in Nairobi’s Hurligham Area

written by Jeannette Musembi 25th June 2013

Yes, i know…Hurligham. Probably if you venture out in the area more often than most, the title of this news post is not new to you. You have probably seen the new building standing tall in the area, just before you get to the Chaka Place. But if not, maybe it’s time that you actually checked the place out. It was officially launched last Friday and i do agree that it’s worth a visit.

I was particularly impressed by Best Western’s ability to fit into the area without seeming to disrupt the overall look of the environment. Hurlingam, as we well know, is an area full of residential plots as well as a few old and well known business establishments. If you’re not careful enough, you might think that the new glossy hotel has always been a part of the busy area. But, it’s not.

The Best Western Premier is actually a chain of an American international brand, with more than 4,500 hotels around the world.

The hotel management targeted Nairobi, citing the city’s growing importance as a business hub as a key reason that attracted them. They are planning to eventually expand to other cities within the region. They will, however initially focus on perfecting their hotel in Nairobi.

“We are determined to provide the best option for the discerning traveller without compromising between expectations, service and cost”, the General Manager Mr. Gerard Schraven said, adding that the hotel has a good understanding of the modern business traveller who prefers comfort and productivity when on the road, an easy access to a working environment and somewhere they can unwind at an affordable price.

“As Best Western, we want to give our guests the best product at the best price”, Mr. Schraven said.

Is there more to look forward to? Well, The Best Western Premier Nairobi will be among Nairobi’s most environmentally friendly hotel with efficient energy usage that includes motion detecting lighting in all public areas and a water treatment plant. Hotel guests can also enjoy the ambience at the Level 8, definitely one of the hippest bar lounges in the city, with uninterrupted views of the Ngong Hills. We were treated to some cocktails at their roof top area and i can attest that this is not an exaggeration of words.

The Hotel targets the business traveller and has been designed in line with Best Western Premier International standards featuring spectacular contemporary rooms and luxurious suites, designed with the modern business traveller in mind. It will feature ninety – six rooms including six luxurious suites.
