Oatmeal is a source of fiber. That means when you eat oats for breakfast, you’re going to feel full for a long time. This month is one of health but also one of staying “lean”. Meaning our budgets may not really allow for our usual morning culinary shenanigans. But with oatmeal you can still have a satisfying breakfast and stay full for longer.
- ¼ cup rolled oats
- ¼ cup milk
- ¼ cup water
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon, optional
- pinch of salt
- ½ – 1 teaspoon honey
- Optional toppings: sliced almonds, sliced mango fruit or banana.
- In a small non-stick pot, combine oats, milk, water, and cinnamon and stir together. Turn heat to medium low and cook the oats, stirring occasionally, until the mixture reaches your desired texture, approximately 8-12 minutes (depending on your preference).
- Stir in honey and serve and top with toppings of choice. Enjoy!
