The heat has taken over and instead of the usual glass of white wine and cold beer; try something a little more refreshing. Campari is an age-old alcohol that has a unique bitter flavor with a hint of herbal over notes. Usually drunk as an aperitif, Campari is actually a delightfully refreshing drink to make cocktails. With the current heat in the Kenya maybe a Campari cocktail will suit best. Here is a quick cocktail you could rustle up at home with minimal effort.
This is a simple procedure all you need is the following:
- 1 part (30ml) Campari
- 2 orange slices
- 2 (60ml) Orange Juice
- 1 (30ml) Passion Juice
- Spoon of Brown Sugar
- Crushed Ice
This is best served in a tall glass on a sunny afternoon with lots of ice. If you like you could prepare a jug of it to share among friends. Simply place the orange slices and brown sugar in the glass and crush to a pulp. Then add crushed ice. Finally add the Campari, passion and orange juice, and gently stir. Garnish with a strawberry or serve with a plate of fresh cut watermelon.
