Eat Out Kenya comes second in the CIO 100 Annual Awards 2011

Eat Out Kenya won the first runner up position at the CIO 100 Annual Awards 2011 which took place at the Safari Park Hotel.

The CIO East Africa 100 annual awards acknowledge institutions that deploy ICT in innovative and creative ways while making the most of the business value at the same time.

Eat Out Kenya was awarded this prize on Wednesday evening at a spectacular gala and dinner ceremony.

The recognition came as a result of their project that has seen many restaurants have a web presence allowing diners to view menus, make advance reservations and other thing through an online portal.

The company has over 250 restaurants listed on their site and traffic has increased from 5,000 visitors a month at the start of 2010 to 50,000 at present.

The top 10 firms recognized at the CIO 100 awards for their innovating use of ICT is as follows:
