Wine has never been my thing. I’ve always found it too complicated with all the sniffing and the judgment that gets passed on a bottle. Recently, Que Pasa held a special wine dinner with Boschendal. It wasn’t pretentious, it wasn’t complicated, it was downright spectacular. Yes I may not understand wine as much, but when the textures of the food meet with the taste of the wine, your palate hosts one exquisite party.
The menu was sublime. The night kicked off with carpaccio of tilapia with spiced glazed duck foie gras and balsamic butter paired with boschendal pavilion blanc. This was a crowd pleaser and instantly warmed everybody up for a night of great taste. My favorite had to be the 1685 Chardonnay that was paired with goat cheese, smoked goat fillet and calamari tentacles and mint. If I was to be marooned on an island with one meal and one choice of drink, it had to be that. After a few hearty laughs and full bellies, we brought the night to a close with the Vin Dor. A perfect send off after a lovely four course meal. If you’ve been fancying yourself an exquisite wine dinner, Que Pasa has it all with a glass of wine to spare. Incase you want to get your hands on either or all of the Boschendal wines, pay their exclusive distributors, Wines Of The World, a visit and treat yourself to some fine wine!
