Every now and then, you’ll want to pack a picnic and relax out of your home or restaurant for a change. Living in the capital means many things will distract you from some quality time and relaxation. Most of the times, we get too busy with work that we hadly get time to appreciate the natural things we have in our beautiful city.

August 7th Memorial Park
The August 7th Memorial Park, also called the Bomb Blast memorial park is located at the 1998 Bomb blast scene along Haile Selassie Avenue in Nairobi, Kenya. It contains a notice board listing the names of all people that were reported dead after the incident. However, it also has perfect lawns ideal for a picnic

Central Park

Also located in the CBD along Uhuru Highway next to Nairobi Serena Hotel, Central Park is a favorite to many for picnics ang group activites.

Found right in the center of the CBD on Muindi Mbingu street, Jevanjee Garden is the first hangout place for people looking to sit in a garden even just for five minutes. Grab your fries and head there with your friends and see how much fun this will be.

All nice in theory. I remember the first time I decided to have my lunch break at Uhuru Park and eat the lunch I had carried from home there. I couldn’t rest easy for a minute for security worries. No, I’ll pass on picnicking in downtown Nairobi.
