Get Wet and Wild in Kilifi

written by Yummy Editorial 23rd May 2012

3° South is Kilifi’s newest watersports centre, offering quality instruction in sailing, windsurfing, waterskiing and wakeboarding. They offer tuition for ages 8+ (all the way to 80 and beyond!) and water fun for ages 6+.

All of the instructors are fully trained and qualified with RYA (Royal Yachting Association) instructor tickets. The skiing and wakeboarding sessions are run by a fully qualified BSWF (British Water-Ski and Wakeboard Federation) coach. Not only do they have great quality instruction but also great equipment in fantastic locations within the Creek:

Kilifi Boatyard – The public centre with a full range of beginner, intermediate and advanced equipment. Ideal for sailing in Kilifi Bowl – a world class sailing venue – with its long reaches and solid winds aboard Picos, Laser1s, Laser Bahias, Laser Vagos, Dart16s.

Mnarani Club – They provide equipment, taster sessions and daily joyrides for hotel guests (they also have a rate with the hotel for room bookings: £42 per person per night, Garden Room, half board. Age 12 and under half price. (Creek Rooms are £47.50). That’s around Ksh 5,500/- Garden side or Ksh 6,200 Creek. The rates are year round. If people want access to extra equipment / tuition then they offer a week’s package which includes tuition on 4 days for £150.

This Easter 3° South are running a number of Children’s Activity Groups. All are based at the Boatyard and combine sailing and windsurfing instruction with a lot of fun on the water!

He said…”kid…Ivy Leaguers with 3.7 GPAs looking for their first job are a dime a dozen in this environment…” I thought ……HOLY FUK………reality?
