The Best Places To Grab Gourmet Burgers in Nairobi!

written by Leroy Buliro 27th May 2019

No matter how old you are, nothing hits the spot like a big, juicy burger.

Let me just say that we have some of the best burgers in Nairobi. There is more to the word ‘gourmet’ and it is a technique that involves more than slapping a beef patty and a few pieces of cheese and lettuce between two sesame buns. Burgers will be topped with such things as bacon and blue cheese dressing, pineapple and chillies, and goat cheese with tomato. Of course, the secret to all gourmet cooking is using the freshest ingredients. Here are a few recommended places to eat that meatiest (or indeed the most veggie) of treats as the world celebrates International Hamburger Day on 28th May 2019.

Brew Bistro

Many have taken on Brew Bistro’s monster burger challenge, and few have succeeded. The 11kg burger comes ‘smothered in cheese, onion relish, pickles, lettuce and tomato all within a specially created bun’ and comes with a Kshs 5000 bill. If you finish it within 1 hour, you get your money back as well as Brew goodies for honouring the occasion. The smaller, more easily digested burgers get good reviews from patrons too: ‘hearty, tasty and served with a perfect portion of fries.’ The burgers in this Nairobi restaurant will leave you craving more.

Baluba at Movenpick

Baluba is an all-day dining restaurant that offers varied cuisine and sumptuous flavours of the world. Enjoy mouthwatering delicacies at buffets and live cooking stations, complemented with an à la carte menu that features international dishes and local ingredients. Indulge in specialities from Africa, Asia and Europe at our themed buffets, and gather your friends to enjoy our spectacular Sunday Brunch with live entertainment.

Coffee Casa

Nested in the heart of Parklands in Doctors’ Park, Coffee Casa offers the charm and warmth of a European Cafe. From the heart of their kitchen come freshly prepared burgers, soups, sandwiches and binge-worthy brunches. Indulge in a cup of perfectly brewed coffee or a glass of wine. Coffee Casa is your go-to neighbourhood joint, any time, any day.

Nyama Mama

Nyama Mama will sure give you that fast, quick and full filling meal. With branches all around Nairobi from Westlands, Yaya Centre and Village Market, expect every bite to leave you mesmerized.

Urban Gourmet Burgers

If you looking to try out an American style diner then Urban Gourmet burgers have a treat for you. From their Korean Chicken burger to The French Connection and more, their vast selection of juicy burgers will have you asking for more.

Honourable mentions

Uncle Nene’s
You can’t go wrong with a burger from Uncle Nene’s. Their burgers are simple, loaded with flavour and so filling. Once you have one, you’ll be plotting when you can have your second!
Burger Hut
This burger spot has been around since the 80’s and they have kept almost everything exactly the same. If nostalgia and something that tastes home cooked is what you’re looking for then you’ll find it here.
Joe’s Atlanta Wings
Don’t get thrown off by the name. Joe’s serves up crunchy and flavourful wings but they put the same love and spice into their fried chicken burger.
