But we found a recipe for brownies that is actually healthy!
The low fat zucchini brownie is very moist and a great brown alternative for weight watchers containing only 2g of fat and 123 calories per serving (1 brownie).
Yes yes I know… Zucchini sounds like a strange ingredient for a chocolate treat but give this recipe a try, you won’t be disappointed!Ingredients (Makes 24)
½ cup of applesauce
2 medium sized bananas mashed up
1.5 cup of sugar
2 teaspoons of vanilla essence
½ cup of cocoa powder
1.5 teaspoon of baking powder
½ teaspoon of salt
2 cups of shredded zucchini
2 cups of plain flour
½ cup of chopped walnuts
Pre-heat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Grease and lightly dust with flour a 9x13in baking pan. In a large bowl combine the applesauce, banana and sugar. Once mixed add vanilla and cocoa and stir. Next add the baking powder, salt and zucchini and mix. Flour and walnuts are the final addition to the mixture before it is spread evenly into the pan. Bake for 25 minutes and allow to cool down before cutting and serving.
