February ended with a bang at the epic Big Brunch Pajama Party! This special edition of Brunch happened on Sunday 23rd February and it went just as wonderfully as expected. Over three hundred guests dressed in their finest and most comfortable pajamas and enjoyed great music, games, endless appetizing food and a relaxed sunny atmosphere. Keeping in line with the dress code, revellers showed up in everything from full-on pajamas, long silky robes, deras, kikoys, sweats and even sleep masks. It was clear people had come to Ikigai- General Mathenge for a good time!
Artcaffe brought their A-game with food from the Artcaffe chefs who cooked up brunch favourites in plenty. The pastry station was a major highlight, with award-winning barista Martin Shabaya delighting guests with his skills and prowess. Most people couldn’t stop gushing about the croissants either. By 12 pm, the place was packed and the food station came alive with aromatic smells and mouth-watering brunch dishes.
We can’t talk about brunch without mentioning the drinks.! All-day, Mia Wines ensured bubbly was flowing steadily into glasses, Tapas were keen on light cocktails, Sikera Cider kept the crowd’s thirst quenched with their ciders while 254 Brewing Co ensured beer lovers were well tended to.
Club W provided one of the Instagrammable highlights of the event by providing a large bottle of Mara champagne. The crowd was brought to their feet by the striking sound of a bottle popping and cheers could be heard all around as elegant showers of champagne rained down.
And for the parents, we had their backs with activities just for the kids like a lego pool, twister and more games, while the adults danced to the catchy sounds spun by crowd-pleasing DJs: Paps and Taio Triiiper.
