Cakes are some of life’s little pleasures, and you do not have to miss out on them just because you do not have an oven. All you need is a sufuria, your cake mix and charcoal. Here is a very simple way of making a cake, without using an oven, you’ll use a jiko ( Charcoal Stove):

Jiko (Charcoal Stove)

Serves: 4 Prep Time: Cooking Time:

Cake mix

Step 1: Mix your ingredients for your cake mix in one bowl.

Step 2: Get a sufuria, line it with margarine

Step 3: Spread your mixture evenly on the base of the sufuria

Step 4: Cover the sufuria using a tight lid.

Step 5: Light your jiko (Charcoal Stove) until the charcoal is burning hot.

Step 5: Place the covered sufuria on the jiko. Put some hot coal on the lid.

Step 6: Bake your cake for around 15-20 minutes. Check for browning.

To check if the cake is ready, stick a fork in it. If it comes out dry, then your cake is ready! Place it aside and let it cool.

Enjoy your cake!
