A chef and author Bart Van Olphen hosts the cook show, and he teaches the viewers on how to cook a complete seafood dish.
Olphen presents his snappy culinary skills in markets, location kitchens and even outdoors by the sea and he cooks wide range of dishes from classics such as ‘moules marinieres,’ to up to date recipes such as Mediterranean sauces to go with a fried fish.
He also makes super short documentaries focusing on sustainable fishing, as he informs his viewers about the catching process, the bait used and how to build up on appropriate skills.
Olphen’s method is perhaps a sign that consumers’ attention spans are reducing and that people want as much information given to them in as little time as viable.
Beside his Fish Tales project, he also holds workshops in his hometown of Amsterdam, he teaches people about the conditions of sustainable fish, how to clean the fish, basic groundwork tips and how to make numerous sauce and sides. He then finishes off the session with a sit down meal together with a glass of wine.
