Popular Kenyan coffee house and eatery, Java House, is planning on opening an outlet that serves only vegetarian dishes. This is part of their Ksh 1 b planned expansion program.
This will be in an effort to attract health-conscious customers to its branches. According to Business Daily, the firm has partnered with Total Kenya where they will launch their latest branch along Mbagathi Way. This outlet will be the second partnership with Total Kenya, having opened Airport View and Mombasa Road outlets.
Java House CEO Paul Smith spoke about the new Mbagathi Way outlet saying, “Mbagathi Road is a major connection route between Ngong Road, Kilimani Area and Mombasa Road. There is constant traffic on this transit road seven days a week.” He added, “Total is also a reputable brand across the region. We have partnered with them successfully at Airport View, Mombasa Road. We are pleased to open a second site with them and look forward to growing this partnership across the region, with Uganda in the more immediate future.”
Mr Smith also explained that they would add more Express outlets, similar to what they have at United States International University-Africa main campus saying, “We have a full expansion strategy for the next six months in Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda. In Kenya, this will see the further roll-out of the Kiosk and Express formats, which should include our first vegetarian-only Express.”
