La Mesa at Mövenpick – A review

written by Yummy Team 19th September 2019

Located on the 15th and 16th floor of the beautiful Mövenpick hotel is a tapas bar and restaurant called La Mesa.

A cosy spot that has a killer view of Nairobi and is designed like a lodge with their wooden finishings and high ceilings. This tapas bar is home to great cocktails, music with a live DJ, board games, a pool table, private rooms and a TV that is perfect for watching games.

The Yummy team was invited by the La Mesa team to taste and review the food and the space so we geared up with empty stomachs and made our way to the restaurant. Tapas at La Mesa is a different experience, a Mediterranean experience that touches on your different pallets. Carefully crafted by Chef Aris, the La Mesa menu is an adventure and no matter what you pick, it’ll be the perfect choice for a cocktail evening and great bitings.

Our tapas journey was filled with quesadillas, chicken wings, Mozzarella sticks, feta and spinach pockets, beef skewers with hummus and pita and finally, a seafood Paella. And for dessert, a chocolate-dipped churros and ice- cream.

The whole experience lasted over 4 hours filled with great conversation, cocktails and food with gracious hosts that constantly checked up on us and made sure we were eating our fill.

They’re opening hours are Wednesday to Thursday:  4.00 pm – 11.00 pm, Friday and Saturday: 4.00 pm – 1.00 am. They’re closed on Sunday, Monday & Tuesday.
