Yummy Pancakes Deserve a Yummy Homemade Syrup

written by Yummy Team 27th August 2019

It was probably your grandma who taught you how to make pancakes. All that time you spent with her by making those trips to the rural sides must have rubbed on you. Or maybe it was your mom who taught you (she definitely learned from your grandma) and you’ve loved them since. A syrup topping undeniably makes this breakfast staple much more enjoyable.

We’re not the FBI so we’re not stalking you and peeping through your private life through cameras and other tech devices but we know for sure you’ve got a bottle of maple syrup somewhere.  Two bottles perhaps? The ultimate pancake syrup huh?

There are days when home cooking really hits and you don’t want to add store-bought syrup to your pancakes (despite the strong temptation to do so). We’re here to help you fight through it with a simple and super easy pancake syrup recipe that will still fill the delicious void and still maintain everyone’s love for pancakes.

1 cup of brown sugar

1/4 tablespoon of vanilla extract

1/2 cup of water

  1. Stir the ingredients together.
  2. Boil them in a pan.
  3. Let the mixture simmer for about 3 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat, let it cool slightly.
  5. Serve with your pancakes.
