Everyone loves a bit of ‘punch’ in his or her cocktail. This involves use of alcohol here and there to make any night livelier. Non-alcoholic cocktails (“mocktails”) are fun to make, delicious to drink and great for a quick thirst-quenching treat or party. Even the kids can try one! Why settle for water or pop when you can keep cool with refreshing mint lemonade, down a juicy mango fizz or mix a virgin mocktail?
For a non-alcoholic cocktail, the trick is to make it fun, use great garnishes, make it balanced and not too sweet, and always use the freshest ingredients. As long as you’re having fun, that’s the key. Here is one easy to prepare recipe that you can try out and is sure to make you crave for more of the ‘mocktail goodness’.
Virgin Mary Mocktail
½ Cup of Tomato juice
Dash of Lemon juice
Dash of Worcestershire sauce
2 drops Tabasco sauce
Celery stalk for garnish
Pickle garnish for garnish (optional)
This is obviously a non-intoxicating drink that can be served to friends if you want a hangover-free escapade. This virgin drink is a lighter and non-alcoholic variation of the Bloody Mary. Taste its virgin goodness by simply mixing all the ingredients in a highball glass. Use a stirrer and mix it thoroughly, garnish with a stalk of celery and pickles for garnish, taste and say “Hail Virgin Mary— the mocktail”!
