If you read about the story we did on Ole Sereni’s new restaurant Eagles, you’ll definitely have an idea of what this article is about. We were at their official launch several weeks ago to let you know what the 4th Floor Fine Dining restaurant was all about. However, this last Friday i was back at Ole Sereni for what seemed was more of what they were exclusively offering to their esteemed guests.
Typically i was a bit apprehensive about the traffic but Mombasa Road surprised me once again and in 20 minutes i was on location. For a drive from the CBD this was nothing short of a miracle. Anyway, Aziz (lively chap he is) and also a large part of the PR department at Ole Sereni, was happy to keep us company and bring us to brief on whatever was happening.
Instinctively, we headed to the private dining room where a small whisky tasting session was about to begin. Headed by EABL’s Kariuki Mukii, i was sure it was going to be an interesting exercise (the man sure does know his drinks). A few formal introductions and he immediately launched into what he does best.
The small crowd, comprised of a few noteworthy Directors and Key personalities in the business hemisphere, was taken through several classic malts tasting notes. From Glenkinchie (12 yr old) to Singleton (12 yr old), Talisker (10 yrs) among others, all the guests were treated to the smooth, golden taste of the exclusive drinks.
The bottles will be available at Eagles bar and lounge area, the perfect place to have that suave ‘gentleman’s’ drink as you discuss your business of the day.
We also came across an exclusive Johnnie Walker Blue Label King George V Scotch Whisky which contents we would not dare spill. It’s actually one of the most exclusive bottles that Johnnie Walker has ever made which makes it also one of the most expensive. Fortunately, you can also get this at Eagles lounge bar should you feel like indulging yourself with some expensive taste.
All in all, the night was about celebrating fine food and drink, great company and obviously a sneak peak on where to have a great evening this side of town.
