Mövenpick Hotel & Residences Nairobi in partnership with Diversey Africa has unveiled a new sustainability initiative – ‘Second Life’. This CSR initiative aims to recycle used soap to give it a new life. The soap is taken through a rigorous cleaning process, followed by infusion with natural ingredients to attain the desired product before it’s later donated to the disadvantaged communities around Nairobi.
“We are deeply committed to growing our CSR Initiatives to give back to the local community. Corporate Social Responsibility is part of us and reflects our values and commitment to them” says Mehdi Morad, Accor Kenya Country General Manager and General Manager of Mövenpick Hotel & Residences Nairobi.
“Diversey is committed to working towards driving programs that create shared value and elevate the lives of the community, and ‘Second Life’ under the ‘Soap for Hope’ Initiative is one of them. The initiative’s purpose is to improve the livelihood of the communities that we serve, and at the same time reduce the rate of infection caused by poor hygiene.” added Joseph Githinji, Supply Chain Director of Diversey Eastern & Central Africa Ltd.
