Executive Chef Evgeny Vikentev, the youngest Michelin-starred chef in Russia, proudly introduces Kenya’s first Neo-Japanese restaurant.

EZO promises a unique dining experience where Nairobi’s vibrant spirit meets the rich flavors of Japan. The Neo-Japanese cuisine at EZO signifies a contemporary evolution of traditional Japanese culinary practices, blending global influences and cutting-edge trends. By preserving the essence of Japanese gastronomy, the team utilizes the finest locally sourced ingredients to create modern Japanese cuisine.

The name “EZO” historically refers to the Japanese island Hokkaido, which changed its name from EZO in 1869. Rooted in the local language, “EZO” speaks of the majestic wilderness and the profound connection between humanity and nature. EZO reflects a commitment to honoring traditions, embracing nature, and crafting a dining experience as rich as the history that inspired it.

The grand opening tasting event was attended by guests from the business and diplomatic community in Nairobi, along with close friends. EZO eagerly anticipates hosting more guests for this unique contemporary Japanese culinary journey.
