1. Make your berries last longer using a Vinegar solution
Prepare a mix of one part vinegar (white or apple cider) to ten parts water.
Swirl the berries around in the mixture, drain, rinse and place them in the fridge.
Raspberries will last a week or more while strawberries will go for almost two weeks without getting moldy and soft.
2. Do not Store onions and potatoes together
This will make them spoil faster. When stored in a cool, dry place with proper air circulation, onions can last 2-3 months!
3. A rotten apple can spoil the bunch
This old wives’s tale is actually true and applies to many other perishables. Make sure you remove any spoilt items from the bunch so as to preserve the rest.
4. Store potatoes with apples to keep them from sprouting
This is one of those unbelievable tips but try it out it does work. Apparently the ethlylene gas emitted by apples prevents sprouting in potatoes.
5. Clean your fridge
This can be overlooked but once something goes bad in your fridge it leaves some mold that may eat up the rest of the food in the fridge.
Disinfecting the fridge will make everything last longer
