Spain. The football, the culture, the music (if you can salsa that is) the wine and yes of course, the food! Clearly I haven’t mentioned the soap operas because that’s not my thing. The Sarova Stanley has put together a one of a kind Spanish Week that will have you packing your bags and heading to Madrid for Christmas. Happening this week all through till the 20th on Friday at their Thorn Tree restaurant, the #SarovaSpanishFest will warm your belly, put a rhythm in your step and a smile on your face.
With a strong emphasis on Spanish food, art, dance and a photography exhibition happening every evening from 6.30pm, you’re in for a special treat. Their buffet menu is nothing short of delightful. You can take my word for it. I was famished and went there for dinner straight after my evening class and I was ready to stuff my face. With table manners of course.
The buffet is something that is out this world. If I had four bellies, I would have eaten everything that was available. The smoked salmon was undeniably one of my favourites hands down. The spicy pork was also a crowd mover, with most of it over by the time I was hoping for a second helping. Between downing my meal and savouring every bite, the live flamenco that was performed gave the whole eating process a new twist. It felt like I was in Majorca, immersed in culture, food and a great ambiance.
If you love the celebration of culture, the celebration of art, music, food and wine, you must take advantage of the #SarovaSpanishFest before you wish that you had.
