Safari Park Hotel & Casino in conjunction with the Embassy of Brazil and a few key sponsors in the industry recently launched the Brazilian Cultural Week. This was to officially launch the Brazil in Eastern Africa Expo to be held from Wed 24 July – Sat 27 July. This will also celebrate the Brazilian culture in Kenya, a festival of music, dance and gastronomy.
Speaking on the night of the official launch of the expo, the Brazilian Ambassador to Kenya was very optimistic that the event would expose Kenya to the Brazilian Culture and hopefully strengthen ties between the two countries. She also hoped that Kenyans will come out in numbers to support the Brazilian Week.
And speaking of gastronomy, Chef Erik Nako will present the flavors of the Brazilian cuisine in traditional dishes and delicacies. Besides, a Brazilian Cooking Show will be performed on the main entrance of the 2nd Brazil in Eastern Africa Expo.
When it comes to a little of what you will expect in terms of entertainment, four professional Ballroom dancers from Brazil are in Kenya for 10-day rehearsals with the African folk dance troupe Safari Cats. Together, they will perform four nightly multicultural shows, when the public will have the opportunity to experience the delicious Brazilian food in the Gastronomic Festival.
Below are some pictures from the event.
