SAMOSA and strings

written by Ami 28th September 2012

Last night, we all had an opportunity to experience a very special moment in Nairobi’s cultural and social scene. In the mystical Karura Forest, the surrounding darkness made way for one of the most inspiring and uplifting evenings of the entire 7 day bienal festival of Cultural and Social cohesion, SAMOSA.

The Hoperaisers and Samosa Strings practiced 16 weeks to give us a performance of sheer and utter joy. A marriage of the African Cow Bell, Harmonium, Indian Flute, Fiddle, Acoustic Guitar and Bongos represented an epic musical performance supported by Afro-Jazz and Indian Classical vocals. Beers were on tap from the Brew Bistro tent and for those of us looking for a bite to eat, the Good food Company was on hand, serving up delicious wraps and sarnies.
