Sankara Nairobi launches Epicurean Club

Alongside their signature wine programme, Sankara Hotel are delighted to launch their epicurean club, a members only offering.

Through the club discerning Sankara guests, whether novice or connoisseur will be able to delight in a distinctive experience that is unmatched anywhere else in the city.

Members of the club will have exclusive benefits including innovative pairings and tasting sessions with leading sommeliers, vineyards and chefs from around the world. Invitations to gourmet evenings as well as a dedicated sommelier on hand to help enhance guest’s wine knowledge.  Members will also have the opportunity to purchase specialist wines not available elsewhere in Nairobi.

To inaugurate the launch of EPICUREAN, Sankara Nairobi has flown in the renowned Micheal Fridjohn. He is South Africa’s leading wine authority and the Louis Roederer Awards International Wine Columnist for 2012. He is a celebrated wine judge, has authored or contributed to over 35 books on the subject and has been a taster for the Platter’s Wine Guide since the early 1980’s.

Michael Fridjohn was the guest-of-honour at the launch cocktail which took place recently at the hotel.

Sankara Nairobi is committed to raising the food and wine culture locally and as such has partnered with many wine estates and international chefs previously. These include the famed Dalla Cia, renowned for creating the iconic Rubicon wine in South Africa, Meerlust Estate and Planeta Wines.

Sankara Nairobi has been award for the second year running the illustrious Wine Spectator Award of Excellence 2012 as a recognition for its wine offering. It is currently the only establishment to have this accolade in Eastern and Central Africa.
