Kiran Jethwa, Chef and owner of Seven Seafood & Grill in Nairobi, has recently launched his own reality TV show set to rock the Kenyan airwaves and the rest of Africa alike. Dubbed “Tales from the Bushlarder” the show takes viewers on a tour of Kenya and her more unusual and unknown gastronomic delights.
Kiran, host of “Tales from the Bushlarder” is a colorful and ambitious 3rd generation Kenyan born in Nairobi. His diverse family background, sense of adventure and international training have all contributed to his comprehensive knowledge of the culinary world.
In the show, Chef Kiran travels the length and breadth of Kenya to source rare and highly prized ingredients, meeting diverse people from many different tribal backgrounds and exploring landscapes ranging from the highlands of Mount Kenya to the Lamu archipelago. The show will focus on the incredible ingredients Kiran finds in the “bush larder”: where they are found and how they are traditionally harvested, and by having Kiran harvest the ingredients himself, we will get to understand where this food really comes from.
