Held last night at the Laico Regency, SOMA Awards fittingly raised a storm in the online KE fraternity. As live tweets and Facebook status updates flooded our timelines with the winners, it really showcased how truly social media has taken a large integral part of our day to day activities.
And it’s not only about talking about our personal lives, social media in kenya has evolved into a platform for saving lives, fighting for civil rights, campaigning for worthy causes, highlighting the plights of the weak in society and even a form of taking care of customer relations. A whooping 2.5 million+ tweets are sent out by Kenyans per day according to the ICT Board.

Although EatOut was nominated in 2 categories and didn’t carry home an award, we are still happy we made it that far and hopefully next year will be our time.
We would like to thank all of you who took the time to vote for us as well as congratulate those who emerged the winners. It was a great honor witnessing how far the industry has come as a whole.
Here is a list of the winners that triumphed at the event. Congratulations to all of them.
