written by Jeannette Musembi 18th June 2012

The SunRice SunGold Superchef Pro 2nd round qualifiers were once again put to test on the second league of the contest that was held this past weekend, June 16th 2012, at the Sarit Center Lower Ground Floor. The Chefs participating in this round of the competition had successfully qualified form Round 1 that was held at the Corner Affair Bistro.

Key ingredients

As is custom, East FM were the MCs and moderators of the event, making sure that everything ran according to schedule. Each participating chef was given a time range of 1hr 30min to prepare a 3 course meal. To spice the process a bit, each participant was given Ksh 1000 to buy their required ingredients at Sarit Mall before they embarked on their cooking challenge. The Chefs then had to deliver all their 3 meals to the table next to the Judges and Spectators. Judging featured mainly on presentation, timeliness, taste, and of course tidiness.

  • Emmanuel Aluda from Sarova Stanley Hotel
  • Ashish Anand from Anghiti Restaurant
  • Joseph Macharia from Fairview Hotel
