Taste Awards 2015: The Judging Process

Taste Awards 2015 is back, and this 3rd edition is in partnership with ABSOLUT Vodka. The past year has seen fabulous new establishments spring up, the existing ones coming up with innovative concepts and much more, and there’s no better way to celebrate these establishments than by recognizing their efforts. With over 100 restaurants and bars are nominated this year, one might wonder…just how was the shortlist arrived at?

The answer lies in the ‘Taste The Best Workshop’, an invite only forum where food connoisseurs, beverage specialists and personas of note all gathered and got a chance to share their thoughts during the half day session conducted by Industry aficionados.  The nominees were selected based on a voting process by the workshop panelists who graded on a variety of criteria including exceptional food, enhanced service, great entertainment, a broad beverage selection and ambiance to deliver an overall experience that is exceptional.

The results from the workshop then derived the basis of nominees and winners in the PRESTIGE section, with all results being fully audited by the official auditing partner, BDO East Africa.
