The Good Earth Group (TGEG) recently unveiled grand plans for growth in 2019 with the launch of two new food & beverage concepts and the introduction of an innovative food delivery service targeted at the urban audience following a highly successful 2018.
The Group will launch an innovative beverage concept called Blue Door, offering a cocktail lounge, beer garden, nightclub and African Tapas eatery. In addition, off the back of their successful Asian concept, TGEG will also introduce Mr Yao, a Chinese fine dining experience inspired by the cosmopolitan streets of Shanghai and the authentic flavours of China. The two new outlets will be located at Kenrail Towers, Westlands where they’ll be scheduled for opening in Quarter 2 this year. The Group has already made a name for itself with their Kenyan brand Nyama Mama taking home high accolades at International Awards in 2018.

We want to deliver hospitality concepts that are proudly Kenyan and yet can stand against any international offering on a global scale.” noted Jay Shanghavi, Managing Director of the Good Earth Group. “When we introduced Nyama Mama back in 2016 our concept took something so familiar and comfortable to Kenyans yet we presented it in a fresh, modern context. We believe this has been the key to our success and we plan to continue to roll out this formula in the many innovative concepts that will be launched in 2019.”
In Quarter 4 of 2018 TGEG also introduced the Good Earth Deli & Bakery as well as Good Earth Catering. The Deli & Bakery experience offers pocket-friendly, fresh menu items across the city. Through the online ordering system, city residents are able to place orders with ease and efficiency from groups of 20 or more for bakery items such as sandwiches, wraps, pastries, quiches and plenty more. It is currently available to order through UberEats and Jumia Food. This offering is directly targeted at professionals and corporates wanting an easy, seamless and value-for-money meal option. Good Earth Catering offers a highly bespoke and tailored outdoor catering experience for private events from weddings to corporate cocktails and conferences. Attention to detail, innovative presentation and world-class chefs bring to life menus to delight the Kenyan guest.
According to The Global Cities 2018 report, spend on eating out in Kenya will increase by 77% from US$848million to US$1.5billion over the next decade. Along with that, will come patrons who are more discerning and want value for money. They will be looking for innovation and authenticity all the whilst demanding that they get what they pay for.
