The recent United Nations climate summit held in Paris saw among other global dignitaries and celebrities, Arnold ‘I’ll be back’ Schwarzenegger making a star power appearance. In his address, Schwarzenegger spoke passionately about the importance of saving the world from global warming. He urged people to become vegetarians in order to save the planet.
In his speech, he said, “28 per cent of the greenhouse gasses come from eating meat and from raising cattle, so we can do a much better job. Luckily we know that you can get your protein source from many different ways, you can get it through vegetables if you are a vegetarian,” he added.
Remembering his childhood days when he would milk cows everyday and draw water from the well, he called on the world to turn to clean energy and protect the world’s environment from global warming.
So all of us meat lovers can today choose to join the fight against global warming by turning vegetarian even if its part time as this not only reduces your risks of contracting Cancer according to the recent World Health Organisation report, but it can also save the planet. He suggests that choosing meat-free days is a good way to start and we have plenty of vegetarian recipes you can try as you embark on your healthy meat free journey to save our beloved Mother Earth.
Here’s a video where Astronauts from around the world made a ‘Call To Earth’ in an appeal to politicians at the Paris climate talks to commit to combating global warming.
