Tomato, Blood Orange, and Mango Sangrita

Sangrita is a traditional concoction of spiced tomato and fruit juices served as a chaser to a shot of straight tequila. Start with the smaller amount of chili pepper, and add more if you like a hotter drink.


  • 150ml tomato juice
  • 150ml blood-orange juice
  • 50ml lime juice
  • 1 cup fresh mango
  • 1/4 cup loosely packed  coriander leaves
  • 1/4 to 1/2 chili pepper
  • coriander for garnish
  • tequila


  1. Mix the tomato juice, lime juice, mango, coriander and chili pepper in a blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours.
  3. Serve in a cocktail glass while chilled and garnish with coriander and shots of tequila.
