American whiskey brand Jack Daniel’s has shortlisted three finalists in the search for a Kenyan brand ambassador. The search, which was conducted through the ‘Gentlemen Wanted’ campaign, received over 2000 applications. The applicants were taken through a rigorous selection process with a panel of judges who included Sports Star Humphrey Kayange and Actress and Media Personality Eve D’Souza.
The Gentlemen Wanted campaign targeted charismatic Kenyans above 21 years with the ability to embody the spirit of the brand and its values of authenticity, independence and integrity.
The three finalists are;
Blessing Lung’aho– a 29 years young accountant by trade and actor by passion and simply your average funny guy next door. I’ve been acting locally for six years with a few international projects in Asia, Europe and other African countries in his portfolio.
David Mutunga-a self-driven and dedicated individual. With a background in marketing he has worked with various international brands. His passion is in developing and maintaining brand identities. He’s calm, cool and collected at all times and above all a gentleman.
Fidel Maithya- He has been in the media for 16 years both in TV and Radio. Six of those years made up of TV work and live activations. He has the ability to interact and engage with a cross section of people. He is a big Lakers and Liverpool fan.
The voting phase closes on 31st July, after which the winner will be announced. The ambassador will then travel to the Jack Daniel’s distillery in Lynchburg Tennessee, USA, where he will be trained on the whiskey making process that Jack himself used, before heading back to Kenya to officially take up his role, “said Zara Kuria, Jack Daniel’s Kenya brand manager.
