Nothing feels better than coming together with others in support of a worthy cause that will ultimately change someones life. This Sunday, 3rd July, the Young Jains Nairobi association gears up for Walk-a-thon 2, a walk for charity that is guaranteed to give back to the community in a fun and entertaining way that all age groups will thoroughly enjoy.
Celebrating 20 years of seva (service), shiksha (learning) and sadhana (experiencing spirituality) the Young Jains Nairobi has accomplished a great fete when it comes to giving back to the community. Among the many projects they have been involved in, some notable acts include setting up and providing water for many homes across Kenya enabling over 300,000 people access to clean drinking water. Every year they carry out feeding for over 3000 handicapped children and host a Christmas party for 1000 handicapped children annually, entertaining and feeding them, together with well-wishers and the Rotary group.
The Walk-a-thon 2 runs from 6.30am -11am at the Oshwal Centre, includes breakfast and will be followed by the Furaha Fiesta, a carnival with a Kenyan twist with performances from Action in focus and the Sarakasi Dancers. Entry is free and promises lots of food and fun activities the whole family will enjoy! See you there!
