But we have to warn you: It will make you hungry! When you see the whole process it takes away the fear of trying out a new recipe, so why don’t you give it a shot!
This recipe would be very easy to switch out with a few ingredients to make a more nourishing version. In some instance, you can use coconut oil to fry them, or use sprouted whole grain flour as a substitute of the white flour.
We think these apple rings would be served perfect with a cup of dark coffee. Maybe, if you were feeling more indulgent, why not a scoop of vanilla ice cream served with the apple rings?
When pairing apples with wine
Owing to the crispy nature of an apple, it will tend to bring out all the flaws in a wine.
Therefore, it’s advisable to stay away from red wines, as the tannins in the wine will become awkwardly sharp. As alternatives choose white wines that already have apple flavours in them, such as Riesling, Viognier and Chardonnay,
The minerality and lightness found in sparkling wine also complements apples, and when paired together it feels like you are drinking sparkling apple juice.
