Facebook Africa was officially launched at a swanky event in Johannesburg on 7th July. Facebook had selected 7 business drawn from Kenya, South Africa and Nigeria who are avid users of the platform with EatOut as part of the 7. With 120 Million Facebook users in Africa, Facebook seeks to support the growth of businesses and people using Facebook in key markets countries in Sub Saharan Africa such as Kenya (East Africa), Nigeria (West Africa), and South Africa (Southern Africa) as well as other supported territories including Senegal, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, Zambia, Mozambique and Ethiopia. Their new offices will be located at the prestigious Melrose Arch in Johannesburg with Nunu Ntshingila as the Head of Facebook Africa.
